Druk Path trek starts from Paro ascending to a fortress in ruins (3,400 m). After crossing the 3,400m Jele la pass one arrives at Jele Dzong. The next day climbing through the thick alpine forests and rhododendrons to a saddle at 3,590m, one can see the enchanting views of Mount. Chomolhari(7,314m). Our trek then follows the ridge to a saddle at 4,040m, drops a bit and follows the ridge back to Jangchu la pass (4,180m) with views of Mount. Jichu Drake (6,989m), the peak representing the protective deity of Paro valley.

The trail then passes through yak fields with rhododendron forests and beautiful Janetsho Lake. We take a short climb along the side of the ridge and then a short, steep descent to camp at 4,040m which is near Simkota Tsho Lake famous for its trout. The following day begins with a gradual climb to a saddle at 4,180m crossing Phume la pass (4,210m) marked by prayer flags where we can view Mount Gangkhar Puensum (7,541m) and other Himalayan peaks. The trail then descends past Thujidrag Goemba, a meditation center hanging on the side of a precipitous rock face, continuing further through juniper trees to the campsite near Phajoding Goemba (3,870m), an important pilgrimage site.

Then the trekking trails get concluded and one returns back to Kathmandu. If you are looking to hike around Bhutan and get into the incredible nature of this country, this trek is a great choice for you!

    Arrive Paro.

    Arrive Paro, a scenic fly from Delhi or Kathmandu by Bhutan air or Bhutan National carrier Druk air. Bhutan welcomes you with clean fresh air after step out from the plane. Rugged Trails sub-agent in Bhutan will take care of all airport formalities and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon visit holiest temple in Bhutan, dungtse lhakhang, thangton gyelpo, also known by the name of chagzampa. After a short visit around paro town, you will be taken to your hotel or you can explore on your own. Your guide will be happy to assist you, just let him or her know. Overnight at Paro.

    Paro (Taktsang Monastery, ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Hike)

    Drive to the foothill of Taktsang Monastery. There are two options available to enable you to reach Taktsang Monastery (Please note that riding pony downhill is not recommended). Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown to the site of the monastery on the back of a tigress. Guru Rinpoche then meditated in a cave for three months and converted the Paro valley to Buddhism. According to Bhutanese tradition, the tigress was a form taken by one of Guru Rinpoche’s consorts for the occasion. Overnight at Paro

    Paro (Chele La Hike)

    Chele La Pass which, at 3,988m (12,499ft), is the highest road pass in Bhutan. The drive snakes upwards through blue pine and rhododendron forests for 35 kilometers. On a clear day the view of Bhutan’s second-highest peak, Mt Jhomolhari (7,314m or 23,996ft), and down to the Haa Valley is breathtaking.
