Kanchenjunga mountain standing at 8,586m is the third highest peak in the world. Trekking in the Kanchenjunga region is really a rewarding one as this region offers amazing snow-capped mountains, landscape and exotic panoramic view of the Himalayas. Located in the far eastern corner of Nepal, the Kanchenjunga Trekking route can be done from Nepal and the Sikkim, India side too. The many mysterious stories of Himalayan Yeti, the abominable snowman is believed to be found in this region. The Kanchenjunga trek is a special for some lucky few have the opportunity to witness the snow leopard, musk deer, red panda much more.
Our trek begins after a flight to Sukethar, Taplejung where we make our way to Lali-Kharka 2,220m. Along with our trek, we came across the picturesque views of the villages and the local peoples and cultures. At Lamite Bhanjying camp is set up after traveling through the jungle. We begin our long days climb to Torontan, which is situated at 3,080m. We will continue onto Tseram 3,750m passing through the pine and rhododendron forests. From there, we go to Ramche 4,360m, with stunning scenery of a frozen lake, crystal-clear streams and views of Okthan glacier, Rathong, and Kabru, where one has the opportunity for a glacial excursion. The next day we trek through Mirgin - La 4,663m and travel across Gunsa 3,475m. From there, through the rough terrain, we pass Kyapra where we take rest. The next morning we move down to Sakathum 1,600m and finally descend Phurumbo. From here we trek to Taplejung- Suketar 2,300m followed by a return flight to Kathmandu where our journey ends in the incredible Kanchenjunga region.
