Named after 5 holy lakes of both Buddhist and Hindu faith, the Panch Pokhari trek routes follow a ridge trail at the base of the Jugal Himal; leading you through the rich culture, dense oak and rhododendron forests, and pristine mountain views.
We start our journey with a bus ride from Kathmandu toward Tibet, up through the hills to Chautara where our trek begins. Panch Pokhari Trek lends you the opportunity to experience the lifestyle, culture and to connect with the Sherpa and Tamang people in the villages of this region. Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples along our trek will offer gratitude and peace on this one of a kind spiritual journey. Our slow climb into the mountains makes way to the heavenly Panch Pokhari, a secluded pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and Hindus. Excellent views of Rolwaling, Jugal Himal range, and Dorje Lakpa are reflected in these placid lakes. From here, we make our way to Melamchipul and drive back to Kathmandu.
