The Short Pikey Peak Trek is the best trekking area to view the sunrise and sunset from the Pikey Peak viewpoint. This area is famous for the world’s highest peak, Mt. Everest. Pikey Peak Trek is located in the Lower Khumbu region of Nepal, in the Solukhumbu District of Nepal, with an elevation of 4065 m (13,336 ft), which makes this region popular among people around the world. It provides an opportunity to be a part of Sherpa culture and enjoy with them their dances, songs, and treats. As these are less-travelled trails, they also pass through traditional Sherpa villages and monasteries, where we can get an experience of living with Sherpas in their lifestyle.

Are you ready to explore the Everest region?

You can now see the best views of Everest in one trip without flying to Lukla. Imagine that you've been thinking about travelling to the area that is home to the mountains Makalu, Everest, Kanchenjunga, Annapurna, Gaurishankar, Lhotse, Nuptse, Numbur, Sishapangma, Thamserku, and Mera Peak. In that case, the Pikey Peak Trek is a fantastic trekking route that will give you plenty of opportunities to take in these majestic peaks' vistas. Sunrise offers the best views of these spectacular mountains as the light bounces off their gleaming, snow-white peaks. While there is no requirement for a permit or climbing equipment, this journey also has the advantage of not causing altitude sickness. You can drive from Kathmandu to the trekking start location of Dhap, so you don't have to worry about aircraft cancellation or postponement.

How does the guided Pikey Peak Trek work?

On a trek to Pikey Peak with Rugged Trails Nepal, take in the majestic Himalayas and the genuine local culture. Without using a plane, you can view Mount Everest by participating in an unusual journey. The hike starts in Kathmandu, and we arrive in Dhap after a 7-8-hour journey (2,900m). From there, we will hike to the lovely nearby village of Jhapre on the way to our ultimate destination. Moving further, we will travel to Pikey Peak Base (3,600m), where we may admire the breathtaking landscape and charming hill region. From here, we will go to Pikey Peak (4,065m), then continue on for a 2-hour trip to Jase Bhanjyang, where we will eventually arrive. The expansive view of Mount Everest, Dhaulagiri, and Kanchenjunga from Pikey Peak will take your breath away. We'll hike back to Junbeshi (2,390m) Village, where the local Sherpas live, after taking in the sights. Following that, we will drive back to Kathmandu after seeing the well-known monastery site in Salleri.

The Pikey Peak trek is a short, less-travelled trek that can be done in 4-5 days. If you are in good physical fitness and have only a limited amount of time, we recommend taking this route! We want to provide you with a chance to enjoy outstanding views from this less-followed trek. This is an interesting trail with lots of fantastic views of the mountain range and Everest. Meet with Sherpa culture and improve your knowledge about Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal, by visiting Buddhist monasteries, gompas (monasteries), stupas, and mani stones along the way.

How High is Pikey Peak Trek?

The elevation of the Pikey Peak Trek is 4,065 metres. Although it isn't quite as high as some of the other treks in Nepal, it nevertheless provides a demanding and worthwhile experience. For those seeking an off-the-beaten-path trekking experience in Nepal, the Pikey Peak Trek is a great option. It's an excursion worth going on because of the breathtaking scenery, distinctive cultural encounters, and moderate challenge. Make sure to prepare in advance and get ready to create priceless memories.

What makes this tour very interesting

The Solu-Khumbu section of Nepal's Pikey Peak trip, which is less popular and off-the-beaten-path, offers breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas and the chance to learn about the distinctive culture and way of life of the Sherpa people. The following are some of the highlights of the Pikey Peak trek:

  • Pikey Peak Trek provides amazing vistas of some of the highest peaks in the world, including Mount Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, and Cho Oyu. From Pikey Peak's 4,065m elevation at the end of the trek, one can see the Himalayas in all their glory.
  • Off-the-beaten path: Unlike the well-travelled trekking routes in the Everest region, the Pikey Peak trek is less congested and leads through uninhabited communities and breathtaking natural settings that have not yet been affected by mass tourism.
  • Sherpa Culture and Lifestyle: On the journey, you will pass through a number of Sherpa communities where you may get a feel for their distinctive way of life. You can go to monasteries, see chortens and prayer flags, and take part in Sherpa festivals and dances.
  • Wildlife: Red pandas, musk deer, and Himalayan Thar are among the animals that may be seen in the Pikey Peak area. Several bird species, including the Danfe, Nepal's national bird, may also be seen.
  • Rhododendron Forests: The trip passes through rhododendron forests that vary in colour depending on the season. The rhododendrons are most beautiful in the spring, when a sea of red, pink, and white blooms blankets the hills.
  • Food: Dal Bhat (rice and lentils), momos (dumplings), and thukpa are just a few of the typical Nepalese dishes that may be sampled during the trip (noodle soup).

The Pikey Peak trip, which offers breathtaking views, a distinctive culture, and an experience off the beaten road, is a fantastic substitute for the well-known treks in the Everest region.
