Indra Jatra Festival 2018

Indra Jatra is the biggest festival in Kathmandu valley which is celebrated by the Newari people. The Festival name Indra Jatra is named of the God of Rain Indra. Jatra means the events or festival. This year (2018) the Indra Jatra Festival is going to celebrate from 21st September. On 3822 Sambat the Lichhavilain King Gunakamadev started this festival.
The eight days festival events will be around Kathmandu Durbar Square (HanumanDhoka). There are many mythologies regarding this festival but the major attractions for tourist are the Lakhe Dance (Mask dance), Chariot of Ganesh, Bhairav, and Kumari.
