Although it seems impossible, it is now possible to drive to Poonhill and hike there. While it used to take 3 days to climb up to Ghorepani Poonhill, you can now do it in just one day. You enjoy viewing the breathtaking panorama of the Annapurna Mountains, Dhaulagiri, and Mt. Fishtail from Poon Hill. This trip is now known as the Ghorepani Poon Hill Drive and Trek due to the recent road building from Nayapul to Ulleri. Drive up to Ulleri village for now, as this is not a fully completed drive trip. In the future, it could be feasible to drive up to Ghorepani.

Ulleri village is located at 2070 m, and it takes 2 to 3 hours to travel there from Pokhara. Rugged Trails Nepal offers the 2-day Ghorepani Poonhill Jeep Drive trip, which begins in the Pokhara valley. It means that you must first travel to Pokhara. Spend the night at Ghorepani village after walking for four hours from Ulleri. Poonhill is at 3210m, whereas Ghorepani is at 2,874m. Poonhill Drive Trek is one of the most popular departures from Pokhara, with Rugged Trails Nepal. Driving a 4-wheel jeep across the off-road from Pokhara to Ulleri is thrilling. The vistas that you might anticipate on a typical journey won't be missed. The roads have completely ruined the walking route from Nayapul to Ulleri (Banthathi).

Will we be visiting Ghandruk Village on this Poon Hill tour?

No, this Jeep drive tour is just for a 2 days Poon Hill Tour from Pokhara. If you want to add Ghandruk Village, we can make it a tailor-made trip plan. Request for 2 Nights 3 Days Ghorepani-Ghandruk Trekplans: our tour officer will customize and give you the best of it.

Skip the Hike: Drive Directly to Ghorepani Village (Optional)

Exciting news! Forget the Ulleri trek—you can now drive directly from Pokhara to Ghorepani Village via Beni. But before you scoff, consider this: while it skips the walk, the adventure doesn't come without its thrills. Rough, unpaved roads make this scenic route longer than expected, with the Pokhara-Ghorepani journey taking 6–8 hours. However, for those who can't or prefer not to hike, this offers a unique way to reach the magnificent mountain views.

How the Ghorepani Drive Tour Works:

Book your tour, and our guide will meet you in Pokhara with the vehicle. Enjoy a comfortable pickup and drive to Ghorepani via the Beni Baglung Highway. Paved roads lead to Beni, then there is a bumpier but still beautiful stretch. We'll make a lunch stop along the way, and your Ghorepani hotel will be pre-booked.

Relax at your tea house, or let your guide lead you to Poon Hill for a breathtaking sunset. If you prefer to admire the mountains from your hotel, rest assured—you won't miss out! The next morning, the guide will be ready to take you to Poon Hill for the unforgettable sunrise over the Himalayas. Remember, it's just a 45-minute to 1-hour hike from Ghorepani village to Poon Hill. Enjoy breakfast in Ghorepani, then hop back in the vehicle for a comfortable ride back to Pokhara. Want to stay another night in Ghorepani? No problem; just let us know!

Skip the porter burden—this tour covers guide transportation and trek permits, expertly arranged by us. Please note that the price differs from the 2-day Ulleri trek option.

My Name is Jane, I wanna share with you my experience so far with Rugged Trails Nepal. I started off at Ulleri taking the ghorepani trek all the way to moving into second trek called Mardi Himal. I have to say from the very begging of the trek, Nirajan have been super super accommodating giving all the information  for the traveling and I meet my Guide Shrawan who is been super super helpful not just interns of guiding but also he picks up on your personal sort of treat character. He actually help me to tailor the trip as I only supposed to do the Mardi Himal. He thought I will also enjoy the Ghorepani Poon Hill trek which was amazing. All I can say is the view, the scenes every corner you turn you got experience something that, I don’t know you if you have seen before for me I have never seen anything like these before. All I just can say in one sentence is that Money can’t buy these. It is an out of the world experience, it has been such a interesting but also such a rewarding experience for me. If you are considering the annapurna region, Nepal the Ghorepani Poon Hill Mardi Himal Trek or anywhere else ABC or any of the other annapurna treks highly recommended. If you into the lush, the forest, the greens and all that definitely the place to be. I think I have really cleans my lung being here, I am a person that I was Korean but lives in Dubai. If you are anywhere desert or Middle Eastern region definitely something that you come and enjoy and get a life time experience that you can talk about to your families, to your next generation so on. Yeah, if you are into it and or if you are looking into it take a leave.
