Manaslu Circuit Trek Status Oct 2026

Trail Update: Manaslu Circuit & Tsum Valley Treks Temporarily Closed | All Trekkers & Crew Safe

Update Date: October 12, 2026

Status: CLOSED (Until Further Notice)

Due to recent heavy rainfall, severe river flooding, and localized landslides along the lower valley corridor, key access roads and crucial trail infrastructure leading into both the Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley have suffered significant damage. As a result, departures for both the Manaslu Circuit Trek and Tsum Valley Trek are on hold until further notice.

Important Safety & Status Updates:

  • All Guides, Porters & Trekkers are Safe: We are pleased to share that all of our ongoing groups have successfully crossed the Larkya La Pass (5,106 m) and have safely returned.
  • Road & Transport Disruptions: Landslides and debris have blocked vehicular access routes from Arughat/Arkhet, Soti Khola, Machha Khola, up to Jagat.
  • Bridge & Access Damage: Multiple suspension bridges have collapsed along the route (including key access points leading toward the Tsum Valley branch beyond Lokpa), and the primary main bridge connecting the Soti Khola to Machha Khola road has been completely washed away.

Recommended Alternative Trekking Routes:

For travelers who are currently booked or ready to depart for the Manaslu or Tsum Valley regions, all new departures are temporarily paused. To ensure your travel plans continue seamlessly without compromising on spectacular Himalayan views, our team is arranging alternative itineraries, including:

  • Everest Region & Pikey Peak: Breathtaking vistas of Mount Everest, rich Sherpa culture, and quieter, scenic trails.
  • The Great Annapurna Trekking Trail: An extended, comprehensive adventure combining the region's finest viewpoints (Poon Hill, Mohare Danda, Mulde, and Khopra Danda) and Annapurna Base Camp.
  • Annapurna Foothills & Circuit Trek: Short and moderate options through traditional Gurung & Magar villages, pristine forests, and dramatic mountain panoramas.

Our team in Kathmandu is actively monitoring ground conditions and working closely with local authorities. If you have an upcoming trip, please contact us directly at [info@ruggedtrailsnepal.com / WhatsApp: +977 9851065387] to discuss your itinerary options.
